The Young Gamechangers Initiative (YGI) – Senegal supports young people in Bargny to actively shape healthier, more inclusive, and more participatory urban futures. Through learning, experimentation, and local action, young Gamechangers work with their communities to address challenges related to public space, environmental resilience, and participation in urban decision-making.
Meet Bargny!
Bargny is a historic coastal city located about 35 kilometres east of Dakar, Senegal, along the Atlantic shoreline. Known for its strong fishing traditions and vibrant community life, Bargny is today navigating rapid urban change while working to protect its coastal environment and strengthen opportunities for its residents.

The Young Gamechangers Initiative (YGI) – Senegal empowers six Young Gamechangers in Bargny to take an active role in shaping healthier, more inclusive, and more participatory urban futures. Through learning, experimentation, and community-driven action, the young leaders collaborate with residents and local stakeholders to address challenges related to public space, environmental resilience, and participation in urban decision-making.
